I'm in lovely Belmont CA, having just finished my first day as an employee of StrongMail. I'm going to like this job. A lot.

My travel day was a travesty of epic proportions that left me with very few wits to collect by the time I made it to the hotel.

I'd post more, but I have a really shitty internet connection and am trying to finish a Mozy backup before I turn in for the night (the more backups, the merrier, I always say).

Maybe tomorrow I'll swing by a Fivebucks and use some quality free internets? Maybe not.

So I've fallen into my old patterns...I'm not posting blogs; I'm not posting links; I'm not running my cron job to update the feeds; I'm a bad person. What can I say? Nothing. I'm lazy, and sometimes I just don't feel like being responsible for things.

I need to change that. I'd started out the year all "GTD! GTD!" and I was going to enhance my digital life and centralize everything and make it all wonderful and shiny and easy to use. Instead, I got bored with that process and moved on to doing other, more fruitful things: watching LOST.

So. I still haven't posted those pieces. I still haven't really made notable headway on my other three projects. I still haven't updated to Drupal 6 (well, I *can't* update yet, but I haven't had the time, either). What have I done? Well, it hasn't been laundry or dishes, either...

I've been working. A lot. Long hours. Late nights. We've got big things going on right now, and I'm an integral part of that, so I've been the diligent employee and done what I've had to do. Why? Because I love what I do. I like the people I work for. I believe in our mission.

I've never been particularly down with watching those puppy snuff films that PETA puts out, primarily because, to me, that kind of thing is heart/gut wrenching to see. Hell, I stopped reading The Jungle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jungle) because it disgusted me so, and I had no problems with The Penal Colony (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Penal_Colony).

I never did post those updates, did I? There are good reasons for that, mostly because both Sarah and I have been sick. Outside of sickness, there was also a teevee/internet outage to contend with, which necessitated a rethink in the network layout (to a much better setup), and in order to properly convey all of this, I need to add some modules to my site. Then there was the being busy thing...which I have been, despite illness.
