I've been busy. Very busy, indeed. I have twitter clients on damn near every gadget I own, and I can't even manage to do that. Or update Tumblr. Or Blogger. Or here. Or my own family, it seems.

Between Sarahs trip out of town, helping people move, a headache that's lasted far longer than is probably healthy, bouts of sleeplessness that aren't doing much for the headache, helping to plan a wedding and work...my leisure time is precious, and I choose to pursue very leisurely pursuits when I have some.

Supreme Things of Leisure (hehe!):

1- Civilization Revolution is a mindless blast...it's retained the 'fun' of the Civ series (if you're into that kind of thing), but it has sacrificed a lot of the fine-tuning that made the games in earlier iterations last for DAYS. 2 hours to finish a game on the 360 is almost too short, but I suspect if it were any longer, it would cease being a casual title and turn into something much worse (as far as consoles are concerned): a sim.

2- Alkaline Trio/American Steel/The Fasion...I hadn't been to the House of Blues before, and it felt like what I figured it would: manufactured intimacy, replete with like 50 bars and a balcony. The show was good, if short, and it was nice to see The Fashion play the most energetic of the three sets (no knock on the Trio, mind...but they're getting old). Maybe it's that fine Danish blood that courses through their veins? It's hard to imagine that the first time I saw the Trio was oh so long ago where they played third fiddle to The Blue Meanies and Link80 on a Plea for Peace tour. Good for them, though!

3 - Spending time with Sarah...I missed her, and so I'm making more of an effort to spend quality time with her now. She deserves the best of me.

4 - Burnout Paradise is rip-roaring, car-crashing fun...I didn't like it at first, because I'm more of a racing sim fan (Forza, Gran Turismo, et al), but once I let go of my purist roots and figured out how much fun it was to plow headlong into traffic while doing what I can only guess were triple digit speeds, I started to enjoy myself. A lot. And there are still races to compete it, and hot times to be set, and new cars to be had...all in all, probably the best car game I've played since Forza 2 dropped.

5 - 52 is a comic series that DC put out after Infinite Crisis and the whole One Year Later thing. I guess this explains what happened in the year between? Who knows. I'm one of those weird, on-again, off-again comics fans who can't be bothered to buy books weekly, but instead waits for the trade paperbacks to be released for easy (and more affordable) consumption. It's amazing how little I know about the DC universe compared to that of Image or Marvel...some of these characters are completely unknown to me. It's been a good read, though, and the artwork has been very snappy.

I'm sure that I've been doing more things, but I can't think of them and I'm needing to do some work.

Congratulations to Chris H. on becoming a grandfather!
